Created in the 12th century as a mystical tool, the Labyrinth symbolizes the Path of Life. When walking a Labyrinth, we begin at the outer edge of the design, moving along the designated path into the center and then back out again. There are no tricks and no dead ends. Along the way, we encounter only ourselves. It is intended to help us find our way by bringing us back to ourselves and our spiritual path. ![]() The Labyrinth inside Grace Cathedral, San Francisco, is pictured here with Nancy Chinn's aerial sculpture, Gifts of the Spirit.
